Angelika Zajdlic – Glass graphics

A series of abstract glass prints inspired by the natural world. The artist strives for synthesis and visual minimalism, giving the viewer space for their own interpretations.

Fascination with nature and pursuit of harmony have become leading themes in Angelika Zajdlic’s glass prints from the series “Fluidity of Associations, or Reflection on Form and Content”. The artist alludes to forms found in nature, dispensing with the need for their actual representation. The deliberate reduction of elements leads to the elementary character of the forms, while the deliberate contrasting of round shapes leads the viewer’s gaze towards the sharper edges. The resulting works are characterised by a unique, minimalist aesthetic.

Angelika Zajdlic:
I seek to make my compositions orderly yet dynamic, to engage in a continuous dialogue between the viewer and the form and content of the performance. This creative interplay ensures that the conclusions drawn from observations and multiple interpretative concepts form a coherent whole (...). Shapes contrasted with the uniform surface of the background are here the main carriers of meaning and significance, performing a dual function that is hidden in both aesthetic layer and content....

Angelika Zajdlic – born in 1995 in Cieszyn, degree from the University of Silesia in Katowice (in the faculties of Artistic Education in the Visual Arts and Painting and Interdisciplinary Projects) and from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (Visual Disciplines in Architecture), currently an associate at the Art Institute in Cieszyn in the studios of stained glass and artistic and applied ceramics.
