The 14th National Biennale of Drawing and Painting by Students of Secondary Schools of Art

An important artistic review and great chance to explore the skills, ingenuity and aspirations of young artists.

Organized by the School of Art in Bielsko-Biała, the review exhibition features works by young students of both public and private secondary and postsecondary schools of art. 

The jurors are professors of Polish Academies of Fine Arts who announce the winners of the Grand Prix and other awards for painting and drawing, as well as selecting the works for an exhibition in Galeria Bielska BWA.

A total of 587 works (260 drawings, 327 paintings) were submited to the 14th Biennale. The jury was chaired by Professor Antoni Cygan of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, and the remaining members were: Professor Wojciech Zubala (Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw), Dr Tomasz Milanowski (Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw) and Professor Stanisław Wejman (Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków).

The Grand Prix of the 14th Biennale was awarded to Igor Warykiewicz from the Art School in Dąbrowa Górnicza (supervising teacher: Mariusz Wnukowski)for the work Breath. Painting no.1.

The First Prize in the painting category was presented to Aleksandra Tunkiewicz from the Art School in Dąbrowa Górnicza (supervising teacher: Mariusz Wnukowski) for the work Easel Painting.

The First Prize in the drawing category was awarded to Paweł Stefaniak from the Art School in Zakopane (supervising teacher: Małgorzata Rosińska) for the work Ada on a Swing.
