The mural on the wall of the BWA Gallery is a story in pictures of humankind’s contact with nature. It also makes reference to the trees on the other side of the road which are reflected in the large glass windows of the gallery. Malgorzata Rozenau is the creator of this work. She uses shades of green and brown for this composition and has added two heroes to the story, a woman and a man. When commenting on these characters she says these are … “people fused together with trees, listening intently, meditating amidst them or embracing them in a gesture of sylvotherapy”.
Malgorzata Rozenau is an artist and designer working with the Academy of Fine Art in Katowice where she runs first and second year composition workshops at the painting faculty. She works together with ecological foundations creating projects and mobile exhibitions connected with teaching about ecology and street art activities.
The mural was painted as part of the Czech Art Festival in Bielsko-Biała project organised by Galeria Bielska BWA (BWA Bielsko Gallery) in 2018. It was co-funded by the European Union from the European Funds for Regional Development budget as part of the INTERREG V-A Czech Republic-Poland 2014-2020 project, as well as from Republic of Poland funds.
