Andrzej Baturo
An album published to accompany the retrospective exhibition of Andrzej Baruto which took place in Galeria Bielska BWA (08.03.14 – 06.04.14).
This well-known and important Polish photo-journalist and photo-activist was an outstanding representative of so-called black reportage which specialised in sociological photography. The album contains an overview of the artist's photography from the 1950s to the present, shown chronologically in photo reportage themes including: "PRL", "Jeszcze Polska", "Drunken Poland ", "Poland–Goal!", "To Become a Soldier ", "Sober Room for Drunkards ", "School", "Childbirth". Each chapter is preceded by an introduction. The album also contains a critical text by Andrzej Zygmuntowicz who was a photographer, member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers, and a lecturer of photography. Text is in dual Polish-English.
